For PVE, strength is good. Really anything is good in PVE, so dont worry too much. Things like vordt's hammer annihilate bosses and ultras are amazing for taking on stronger enemies. They work best on a 40/40 str/dex build, or 28/40 if you intend on two-handing them all the time.
