Gordon Parks Photography. The youngest of 15 children, Gordon Parks was born in 1912 (d. 2006) in Fort Scott, Kansas. His parents had moved there from Tennessee in the years following the post–Civil War Reconstruction period. Although he was close with his supportive family, Parks could not ignore the inequality and racism around him.Gordon Parks was a U.S. Photographer and Artist of the African Diaspora born on November 30, 1912.
